What Makes a Breakdown Urgent?
Safety issues come first: an electrical or burning smell from the unit, a system tripping the switchboard, a carbon monoxide alarm sounding, a suspected gas or refrigerant leak, or water running out of a ducted unit into a ceiling. Shut it down and ring us rather than restarting it.
Complete failure in humid heat is also urgent, particularly for a baby, an older resident, or anyone with asthma or a heart condition. Humidity through the Illawarra makes indoor air feel heavy well into the evening, and older brick and fibro homes around Corrimal, Warrawong and Berkeley do not shed it overnight. What can I do before the technician arrives?
Turn it off at the wall if it is smoking, sparking or leaking water, and leave a tripped safety switch alone. Use towels and a bucket for any drip and move electronics clear. In humid weather, fans help more than people expect because moving air lets sweat evaporate. Keep blinds shut on the sun side and have brand, model and any error code ready.
How fast can someone reach Wollongong?
