24/7 Emergency Service —
Same Day Air Conditioning Repairs in Melbourne's Inner West
The inner west is full of single fronted Victorian cottages, weatherboards and converted warehouses, most with cooling added long after the building went up. Long pipe runs, units squeezed into narrow side returns, and roof spaces you can barely crawl through. When it fails on a 40 degree day, our line is answered 24 hours a day and a licensed technician is sent out.

When Is It an Emergency?
When it is unsafe or causing damage. An electrical or burning smell from the unit, a system tripping the switchboard, a carbon monoxide alarm, a suspected gas or refrigerant leak, or water escaping into a ceiling. In old plaster and lath ceilings a leak does damage quickly, so shut it off rather than waiting to see what happens.
Heat is the other one. Single fronted cottages with a west facing wall and minimal insulation get very hot and stay hot, and warehouse conversions with big glazing and high ceilings take a long time to pull down once the system stops. If there is a baby, an older person, or anyone with asthma or a heart condition in the house, say so when you call.
Plenty of faults can wait. A hum from the outdoor unit, airflow that has faded, a musty smell on startup, a remote that no longer connects. Book them in, because a system that is already struggling will pick the hottest weekend of the year to stop entirely, but you are not in trouble tonight. If you cannot judge it, describe the symptoms on the phone.
If you can smell gas, a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, or anyone has a headache, nausea or unusual drowsiness that eases outdoors: turn the appliance off, open windows and doors, and get everyone into fresh air. Call 000 if anyone is unwell, and your state gas emergency line for a suspected gas leak. Do not use the appliance again until it has been checked. Then call us on 1300 730 896.

My house has no roof space to speak of. Can a ducted system still be repaired?
Yes, though access is the main constraint in these homes rather than the repair itself. Many inner west cottages have a shallow pitch with barely enough clearance to reach the unit. Tell us where the manhole is and whether anything is stored around it, and the technician will plan for it rather than discovering it on arrival.
What should I do before the technician arrives?
Turn it off at the wall if it is smoking, sparking or dripping, and do not keep resetting a tripped breaker. Catch any water and move electronics clear. In the heat, close blinds on the western wall before the afternoon, shut off rooms nobody is using and run fans. Have brand, model and any error code ready.
How fast can you get to the inner west?
Our booking line runs 24 hours a day and we have technicians across inner Melbourne, so same day or first thing next morning is normal. Narrow streets and permit parking around Seddon and Yarraville can slow arrival, so let us know if there is off-street access.
My evaporative cooler is not cooling on humid days. Is it broken?
Probably not. Evaporative cooling works by evaporating water into the air, so its effectiveness drops as humidity rises. On a muggy Melbourne day it will underperform even in perfect condition. If it is not cooling on a dry hot day, then something is genuinely wrong, usually the pump, the pads or the water solenoid.
Are after-hours callouts more expensive?
You pay a fixed call-out fee covering travel, diagnosis and a full assessment, and you know the exact figure before booking. Nothing is added afterwards. Parts and further work are quoted in writing and only go ahead with your approval.
Which brands do you repair?
Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Toshiba, ActronAir, Brivis, Braemar, Bonaire, Rinnai and Vulcan among others. We hold authorised service agent status with the major manufacturers, so warranty repairs stay valid.

"Extremely helpful staff!!! My reverse cycle split system stopped working suddenly (of course when I needed it most), and the staff talked me through the process. They sent a technician the very next day. He was friendly, efficient, had extra parts on hand to fix the problem there and then, and didn't even leave a mess. Great value for money!"

"Joshua is an absolute credit to the company. He patiently explained the options and the fees upfront. The technician arrived early, diagnosed the problem, and informed me the repair was covered under warranty and that he wasn't an approved Panasonic repairer. His honesty saved me a significant amount of money in a voided warranty."

"I experienced a wonderful professional service from the company and the two technicians that installed my new system within several days. The time lag was mostly as a result of organising finances and reconciling details with my insurance company. I would not hesitate in recommending Quick Air to anyone."

"I couldn't choose quality, value, professionalism, responsiveness, or punctuality as my most liked thing about Quick Air. I cannot give a negative answer on any of them as all my expectations were met. The technician was most knowledgeable and the patience and guidance given to his apprentice was outstanding. I will recommend this company to my friends without any hesitation."
