24/7 Emergency Service —
Emergency Ducted Repairs Across Melbourne's East
Box Hill is a mix of newer apartment towers around the station and large brick veneer family homes through Mont Albert and Blackburn, most of them running ducted systems that heat in winter and cool in summer. One unit doing both jobs year round wears out faster, and when it fails the whole house goes with it. Our phone line runs 24 hours a day, every day.

What Makes a Ducted Failure an Emergency?
Anything unsafe. A burning or electrical smell from the return air grille, a unit tripping the switchboard, a carbon monoxide alarm sounding near a gas ducted heater, or water escaping the indoor unit into a ceiling. Ducted units sit in the roof, so a leak can travel a long way through the plaster before you see the stain.
Total failure in extreme weather counts. A 41 degree Melbourne day with no cooling, or a heating failure during a genuine cold snap, is serious in a house with young children, older parents, or anyone with a cardiac or respiratory condition. Multi-generational households are common through this part of Melbourne, so tell us who is home when you call.
Some faults are not emergencies. One zone running warm while the rest is fine, airflow that has dropped from a couple of outlets, a noise from the roof space, a wall controller that has gone blank. These usually point to damper motors, control boards or ducting that has come loose, and they will keep a day or two. Ring and describe it if you are unsure.
If you can smell gas, a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, or anyone in the house has a headache, nausea or unusual drowsiness that eases outdoors: turn the appliance off, open windows and doors, and get everyone into fresh air. Call 000 if anyone is unwell, and your state gas emergency line for a suspected gas leak. Do not use the appliance again until it has been checked. Then call us on 1300 730 896.

Only some rooms are getting air. What causes that?
Usually a zone damper motor that has failed, a control board fault, or a flexible duct that has come off its collar in the roof space. It is not dangerous, but the system works much harder than it should and your running costs climb. Tell us which rooms are affected when you book so the technician brings the right parts.
My gas ducted heater is not igniting. Is that an emergency?
If there is any gas smell, or a carbon monoxide alarm has sounded, yes. Turn it off, ventilate and follow the safety steps above. If it simply will not light with no smell, it is usually an igniter, flame sensor or gas valve fault, which is a same day or next day job rather than a middle of the night one. Either way, do not keep cycling it to try again.
Should gas ducted heaters be checked for carbon monoxide?
Yes. Victorian gas heaters should be serviced and tested for carbon monoxide every two years, and older units with cracked heat exchangers are the reason that advice exists. If your heater is more than about ten years old and has not been tested, book a service. It is a cheap check against a serious risk.
How quickly can a technician get to Box Hill?
Our line is staffed 24 hours a day. With technicians across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, same day or first thing next morning is standard. During the first cold snap or first heatwave of the season the whole region calls at once, so we give you the real earliest slot.
Is emergency service charged at a premium?
You pay a fixed call-out fee that covers travel, diagnosis and a full assessment of the fault, confirmed before the booking. No hidden charges. Parts and further work are quoted in writing and approved by you before anything starts.
Which brands can you service?
Brivis, Braemar, Bonaire, Rinnai, Vulcan, Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, ActronAir, Panasonic, LG and Samsung among others. We are authorised service agents for the major brands sold in Victoria, so warranty repairs are handled correctly.

"Extremely helpful staff!!! My reverse cycle split system stopped working suddenly (of course when I needed it most), and the staff talked me through the process. They sent a technician the very next day. He was friendly, efficient, had extra parts on hand to fix the problem there and then, and didn't even leave a mess. Great value for money!"

"Joshua is an absolute credit to the company. He patiently explained the options and the fees upfront. The technician arrived early, diagnosed the problem, and informed me the repair was covered under warranty and that he wasn't an approved Panasonic repairer. His honesty saved me a significant amount of money in a voided warranty."

"I experienced a wonderful professional service from the company and the two technicians that installed my new system within several days. The time lag was mostly as a result of organising finances and reconciling details with my insurance company. I would not hesitate in recommending Quick Air to anyone."

"I couldn't choose quality, value, professionalism, responsiveness, or punctuality as my most liked thing about Quick Air. I cannot give a negative answer on any of them as all my expectations were met. The technician was most knowledgeable and the patience and guidance given to his apprentice was outstanding. I will recommend this company to my friends without any hesitation."
