How much damage does the salt air actually do?

Units within a few hundred metres of the beach can lose several years of life without maintenance. Rinsing the outdoor coil with fresh water every couple of months genuinely helps, and coastal-grade coated coils are worth specifying when you replace.

My unit stopped after a storm. What is likely?
