Does being near the bay damage air conditioners?
It does. Salt carried on the sea breeze settles on the outdoor coil and corrodes the aluminium fins and steel fittings, and units within a few streets of the water age noticeably faster. Rinsing the outdoor coil with fresh water every couple of months slows it down considerably. We will tell you whether corrosion is the actual fault or just surface damage.

What should I do while waiting?
