Ducted gas is one of the most effective ways to warm an entire home in a cooler climate, pushing heat from a single unit out through vents in every room. When it is running well you barely think about it. When it will not fire up on the first cold morning, or you can smell that something is not right, the whole house feels it. Whether yours needs a service before winter, has stopped heating, or you are planning a new install, QuickAir has a licensed technician who can be there fast and get it sorted safely.

National Ducted Gas Heating Specialists | ARCtick Certified, Fully Insured
A ducted gas heater runs your whole home from one unit, so when something is off, whether it is rooms that will not warm up evenly, weak airflow from the vents, or a heater that will not light at all, it is worth having someone who knows these systems inside out. QuickAir services, repairs and installs ducted gas heaters of every major brand, and our technicians work on them every day through the cooler months. Whatever yours is doing, they have almost certainly seen it before, and they turn up when they say they will, at a price that does not move once they are inside.
The heart of a ducted gas system is the heat exchanger, the sealed component that warms the air before the fan sends it through your home. As a system ages, that heat exchanger can crack, and a cracked or corroded one can leak carbon monoxide into the air you are breathing. Carbon monoxide is odourless, invisible and genuinely dangerous, which is why every gas service we carry out includes a carbon monoxide test as standard rather than as an upsell. It is also why we will give you a straight answer on an older unit. If a heat exchanger has gone and the repair costs close to a new system, we will tell you plainly instead of patching it up and taking the fee. That honesty is the same standard our enterprise clients have relied on us for across thousands of jobs.

What We Do for Ducted Gas Heaters
A service before winter, a repair in the middle of it, or a whole new system, one team handles it at a fixed price you know before we arrive. Here is the ducted gas work we take on.
Service & Maintenance
A full professional tune-up that keeps your ducted gas heater running efficiently, reliably and safely. Best booked before winter so it is ready when the cold sets in, and it includes a carbon monoxide test as standard. Regular servicing also helps keep your manufacturer warranty valid.
Breakdown & Repair
Heater not firing up, not getting the house warm, or cutting out? We diagnose the fault on-site, explain what is wrong and what it takes to fix, and because our technicians carry major spare parts, we resolve most problems in the same visit.
Installation & Replacement
Planning a new ducted gas system or replacing a tired one? A licensed technician assesses your home on-site, recommends the right setup and vent layout for the way you live, and gives you a detailed fixed quote before anything is committed.
Deep
Cleaning
For systems that have run for years without a professional clean, we strip, wash and treat the internal components so the air coming through your vents is cleaner and the system runs the way it should.
Full Service Checklist:
- Check and test gas levels and running pressures
- Inspect the burner and heat exchanger
- Clean the filter
- Check airflow through the system and vents
- Check the controller and test the thermostat
- Oil the fan motor
- Clean the grille and face cover
- Inspect all electrical components
- Clean down the unit
- Carbon monoxide testing, included as standard
The checklist varies depending on your system, brand and model. Not every step applies to every unit.

What is a ducted gas heating system?
It is a single gas heater that warms your whole home. The central unit, usually in the roof space or under the floor, heats the air and a fan pushes it out through ducts to vents in each room. It is one of the most effective ways to heat a whole house in a cooler climate, delivering consistent warmth across multiple rooms without a separate heater in each one. Because it runs on gas, it needs a licensed technician for servicing and a carbon monoxide test to stay safe.
How often should I service my ducted gas heater, and do you test for carbon monoxide?
We recommend a service, with a carbon monoxide test, at least every two years, and ideally each year before winter. As a ducted gas system ages, the heat exchanger can crack and leak carbon monoxide, which is odourless and invisible, so testing is the only reliable way to know your heater is safe. A carbon monoxide test is included as standard in every ducted gas service, or you can book it on its own for $249. Regular servicing also keeps the system running efficiently, which lowers your gas bills, and helps it last longer.
My ducted gas heater has stopped working. Can you come out today?
In most cases, yes. We can get a licensed technician to you the same day or first thing the next morning. That is made possible by having 350+ locally based technicians and a booking line staffed 24 hours a day. They will diagnose the fault on-site, explain what is wrong and what it will take to fix, and because our technicians carry major spare parts, they can often resolve it in the same visit. Nothing beyond the booked service happens without your approval first.
Should I repair or replace my ducted gas heater?
We will always tell you honestly. Ducted gas systems can run for many years, but if the heat exchanger has failed or the cost to repair is close to a new system, the technician will say so and can provide a quote for a replacement, with no pressure either way. If an aftermarket part can be sourced to save you money, we will look into it. And if you do decide to replace, the initial booking fee is credited toward the new installation. Interest-free finance is available on new installs.
How much does a ducted gas service or installation cost, and are there any hidden fees?
No hidden fees. A ducted gas service is a fixed $259 for new customers, or $249 if you have booked with us before, with the carbon monoxide test included at no extra cost. A standalone carbon monoxide test is $249. If you are after a new or replacement system, an on-site installation quote is $149, and that fee is credited back if you go ahead with the install. There are no call-out fees, no per-minute charges, and any additional parts or work are quoted and approved by you first. The price you see is the price you pay.
