Carbon monoxide is produced when a gas heater is not burning fuel correctly, often from a cracked heat exchanger, a blocked flue, or a deteriorating burner. You cannot see it, smell it or hear it, which is exactly why regular testing matters. We recommend every gas heater is carbon monoxide tested at least every two years.
