Commercial HVAC Services in St Kilda
Licensed technicians covering St Kilda venues, cafes, hotels, retail and offices. Work scheduled around trading hours, fixed pricing agreed before we attend, and a written report after every job.
In hospitality the system failing is not a background problem. It is a full room in summer, a kitchen that is already hot, and customers deciding to sit somewhere else. St Kilda venues also tend to occupy older buildings with equipment squeezed into spaces that were never designed for it, which makes fast, competent attendance worth more than a cheap hourly rate.
QuickAir began as an enterprise operation. We were formed to provide national in-field technical support for Australia’s second-largest telecommunications company, which needed an Australian owned provider able to put licensed technicians on sites anywhere in the country. Two of Australia’s largest insurance groups followed, using our written assessments for HVAC claims. The consumer brand launched later, around 2015.
For St Kilda that means technicians based in the inner south, one operating centre handling booking, dispatch and job tracking, and an in-house compliance team keeping refrigerant and Victorian electrical licensing current. Whether you run one venue on Acland Street or several sites across the city, you get one contact and one standard of work.
St Kilda Businesses We Work With
St Kilda is dense with hospitality and small commercial tenancies. Cafes, bars, restaurants, hotels and accommodation, retail along Fitzroy and Acland Streets, gyms and studios, medical and allied health suites, and offices in converted buildings. Kitchen exhaust interaction, tight plant space and bayside salt exposure are the recurring technical themes.
We regularly provide commercial HVAC services for:
- Office buildings and professional workplaces
- Retail stores and shopping centers
- Restaurants and food service establishments
- Medical offices and healthcare facilities
- Schools and educational buildings
- Churches and places of worship
- Warehouses and light industrial facilities
- Property management companies
- Multi-tenant commercial properties
- Hospitality businesses, including hotels and lodging facilities
What We Do for St Kilda Commercial Sites
We service, repair, install and maintain commercial heating and cooling, including rooftop package units, ceiling cassettes, ducted and multi-split systems, reverse cycle, gas and hydronic heating. In venues the real constraints are trading hours, noise, and getting equipment in and out of a building with no loading dock, which is exactly what our operating centre coordinates before the technician arrives.
Commercial Aircon Repair in St Kilda
A licensed technician attends, diagnoses the fault and explains it in plain terms so you can make a call quickly. Common spare parts are carried, so many faults are finished on the first visit rather than becoming a return trip mid week. Anything requiring an ordered part or additional scope is quoted in writing first. We repair compressors, motors, controllers, electrical faults, refrigerant leaks and airflow problems across all major brands.
Commercial Installation and Replacement
Fitting new plant into an older bayside building takes planning. We assess the space, the load from kitchen equipment and occupancy, the access route and the noise considerations for neighbouring residents, then quote in writing with the options set out. Coastal exposure is factored into the specification, and removal of the old equipment is handled as part of the same job.
Maintenance for Venues and Retail
Hospitality equipment works harder than almost anything else in commercial use. Grease, heat, long hours and salt air combine to foul coils and filters quickly, and the failure always seems to land on a Friday night. A scheduled program keeps filters, coils, refrigerant charge, drains and airflow correct, and every visit is documented for your compliance and warranty records.
Why St Kilda Venues Choose QuickAir
Plenty of contractors are good on the day they are free. Hospitality does not work like that. You need someone who can attend quickly, work around service, and leave a record of what was done.
Commercial from the start. Over a decade servicing a national telco and two of Australia’s largest insurance groups, to standards those clients audit.
Availability that holds up. 350+ locally based licensed technicians with centralised booking and dispatch, so you are not waiting on one operator’s diary.
Documentation you can use. Written quotes, professional invoices and service reports at the standard insurers rely on.
Work around service. Early mornings, quieter days and after close are normal scheduling for us, with police checks where a site requires them.
Fixed pricing. The cost is agreed before we attend, and any extra work is quoted and approved by you first.

How often should a cafe or restaurant system be serviced?
More often than an office. Three to four times a year is realistic for venues with kitchens, because grease and heat foul filters and coils far faster than in a dry commercial space. Skipping servicing in hospitality is usually what turns a small airflow problem into a compressor failure during a busy trading week.
Can you attend without closing the venue?
In most cases, yes. We schedule around service, working early mornings, quieter days or after close where the job allows. Some work does need the equipment off for a period, and we will tell you that up front when we quote so you can pick a window that costs you the least trade.
Does being near the bay affect our equipment?
Yes. Salt in the air corrodes condenser coils, fan housings and outdoor casings, and it reduces capacity gradually rather than all at once. Bayside sites benefit from more frequent coil cleaning and, at replacement time, from specifying corrosion resistant components rather than the standard build.
Our unit ices up during service. What is causing that?
Icing is usually restricted airflow from blocked filters or a fouled coil, low refrigerant, or a fan not running properly. In a busy kitchen environment the filters are the usual culprit. It needs attention rather than being switched off and on, because running a system in that state damages the compressor over time.
Do you work on older buildings with limited plant space?
Yes, regularly. Much of St Kilda’s commercial stock is older, with equipment fitted into awkward positions. We assess the access and space constraints at quoting rather than discovering them on the day, and where a component is discontinued we look at what can be sourced before recommending replacement.
Do you service multiple venues under one operator?
Yes. Where you run several sites we coordinate them through one contact, with individual documentation per venue for your own records and compliance. That applies across Melbourne, and across other cities if your group operates interstate.

"Extremely helpful staff!!! My reverse cycle split system stopped working suddenly (of course when I needed it most), and the staff talked me through the process. They sent a technician the very next day. He was friendly, efficient, had extra parts on hand to fix the problem there and then, and didn't even leave a mess. Great value for money!"

"Joshua is an absolute credit to the company. He patiently explained the options and the fees upfront. The technician arrived early, diagnosed the problem, and informed me the repair was covered under warranty and that he wasn't an approved Panasonic repairer. His honesty saved me a significant amount of money in a voided warranty."

"I experienced a wonderful professional service from the company and the two technicians that installed my new system within several days. The time lag was mostly as a result of organising finances and reconciling details with my insurance company. I would not hesitate in recommending Quick Air to anyone."

"I couldn't choose quality, value, professionalism, responsiveness, or punctuality as my most liked thing about Quick Air. I cannot give a negative answer on any of them as all my expectations were met. The technician was most knowledgeable and the patience and guidance given to his apprentice was outstanding. I will recommend this company to my friends without any hesitation."
