How often should I service my heater, and do you test for carbon monoxide?
For gas heaters we recommend a service, with a carbon monoxide test, at least every two years, and ideally each year before winter. Carbon monoxide is odourless and invisible, and a heater that is not burning correctly can leak it, so testing is the only reliable way to know your system is safe. A carbon monoxide test is included as standard in every gas heater service, or you can book it on its own for $249. Regular servicing also keeps the system running efficiently, which lowers your power bills, and helps it last longer.
How much does a heater service cost, and are there any hidden fees?
No. A standard service is a fixed $259 for new customers, or $249 if you have booked with us before, with an additional unit on the same visit at $179 (or $169 returning). A standalone carbon monoxide test is $249, and it is included free within a gas heater service. There are no call-out fees, no per-minute charges, and no surprises. The price you see is the price you pay, and any additional parts or work are quoted and approved by you first.
Should I repair my heater or replace it?
We will always tell you honestly. If the cost to repair is close to or exceeds the cost of a new heater, the technician will say so and can provide a quote for a replacement, with no pressure either way. If an aftermarket part can be sourced to save you money, we will look into it. And if you do decide to replace, the initial booking fee is credited toward the new installation. Interest-free finance is available on new installs.
